Family law requires balance and experience. The Family Law Act and Rules require that parties and lawyers do all they can to settle their dispute with a minimum of costs and delay. This often involves direct negotiation with the other party or their solicitor or some form of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

 

In some cases though negotiation or ADR are unsuccessful or just not suitable (domestic violence or urgency are two common exceptions). We can advise you on what is the best way forward in your matter to achieve the best outcome for you and/or your children while ensuring that outcome is reached as quickly and inexpensively as possible.
