Robert Kropp

Principal Solicitor - K&W Lawyers

I’m Robert Kropp, Principal Solicitor of K&W Lawyers.

I focus on family law, wills and estates, and the property transactions connected with these important stages of life.

My role is to help clients understand their position, make informed decisions and move forward with a clear and practical strategy.

Whether you are navigating separation, making plans for your family’s future or dealing with the property implications of a family or succession matter, I aim to provide advice that is understandable, realistic and directed towards what matters most to you.

My Approach

Good legal representation begins with an honest conversation—not only about the legal issues, but also about your circumstances, concerns and goals. I take the time to understand the broader context of each matter before recommending a course of action.

Wherever possible, I help clients pursue practical solutions that minimise unnecessary conflict, delay and expense.

Where negotiation is not appropriate or does not produce a reasonable or timely outcome, I provide strategic advice and representation directed towards protecting my client’s interests.

I maintain a focused caseload so that each client receives the attention, preparation and accessibility their matter requires. I am also candid about whether I am the right lawyer for your matter. If another practitioner would be better placed to assist, I am happy to make an appropriate referral.

Experience & Understanding

I came to law relatively late in life, beginning dual degrees in Law and Arts, majoring in History and English Literature, at Central Queensland University when I was 30.

That path gave me the benefit of broader life experience before entering the profession. Combined with my experience in general legal practice, it allows me to understand how family, succession and property issues frequently overlap and to assist clients through interconnected legal matters with continuity and perspective.

My personal understanding of anxiety has also strengthened my appreciation of the effect that legal disputes and major life events can have on a person’s wellbeing. I aim to provide an environment in which clients can discuss difficult circumstances openly, honestly and without judgment.

Personal service with national reach

K&W Lawyers is based in Brisbane and Mackay, Queensland and assists clients through flexible in-person and online services.

As a portfolio.member of arch.law, K&W Lawyers combines the personal attention of a boutique practice with access to arch.law’s Australian offices, technology, administrative infrastructure and wider professional network. This enables me to assist clients beyond Mackay and Brisbane while remaining personally responsible for their advice and representation.

When a matter requires expertise outside my principal areas of practice, I can also draw upon the broader arch.law network to help connect clients with the right legal support.

Outside the law

Outside work, you may find me playing a round of golf, listening to my vinyl collection, walking on the beach or exploring one of Queensland’s bushwalking tracks.
